This drawing, "Coat of Spots," is of Chui (Swahili for ‘leopard’) the female leopard who was the main character of our book The Leopard’s Tale. Chui loved to lie on the broad limbs of this ancient fig tree along Fig Tree Ridge, situated above the rocky outcrop where her young cubs Dark and Light could hide.
